I am a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator. I work in a new program called the Diabetes Center of Excellence (DCOE) through the Barren River District Health Department. The DCOE helps adults with diabetes in our eight-county district to manage their diabetes through a unique partnership with the patient, their primary care provider and the DCOE's Care Coordinator. Our goal is to increase the health of all the patients in our care and to help them receive the medical care they need. Our services are free of charge and are available in the following counties in Kentucky: Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren.
